ICOM-CC is coming to Norway

14 – 18 September 2026

Dear Colleagues,
Dear ICOM-CC members,
Dear Conservation Community,

It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the 21st ICOM-CC Triennial Conference in Oslo, which will be held between 14-18 September 2026. This event promises to be a significant gathering for conservators, scientists, curators, and museum professionals worldwide, set against the backdrop of Oslo’s dynamic and evolving cultural landscape.

Our conference theme, *Cultural Connections in Conservation*, invites the museum conservation community to explore how conservation can strengthen our links to the past, present, and future, and bridge divides across cultures and generations. As we gather in Oslo, we will have the opportunity to engage deeply with these ideas, sharing insights and forging new paths together.

Oslo’s recent cultural renaissance, highlighted by groundbreaking new museums and institutions, makes it a fitting venue for our discussions. This conference will not only provide a platform for professional exchange but also allow you to experience firsthand the remarkable developments within Norway’s cultural sector, both in Oslo during the conference week and exploring further afield during the pre and post conference tours.

We look forward to welcoming ICOM members and non-members alike to Oslo, where your participation will contribute to shaping the future of conservation within the museum sector.

Warm regards,
Kate Seymour
